Reviewing the Huawei Matebook 16, one of the biggest AMD Ryzen 5000 series laptops of 2021 - but is it one of the best? Creative tasks like video editing and multitasking are this notebook's specialty, with its Ryzen 7 5800H CPU and 16-inch screen. You can even get some casual gaming on the go. But the Huawei Matebook 16 certainly isn't portable despite good battery life, while some other limitations let it down slightly.
Check out my reviews of other creative and gaming laptops of 2021 here on Tech Spurt, for more ideas.
That mighty display sports an almost square aspect ratio, which is good for multi-tasking. It's quite bright but also reflective, while the colour accuracy isn't as strong as some rivals. However, the Matebook 16 does boast features like cross compatibility with other Huawei devices, great news if you have one of those MatePad tablets. Battery life is also good enough for all day play.
You also have a comfortable keyboard for touch typing, a spacious touchpad and a reasonable selection of ports (but no DisplayPort, Ethernet or Thunderbolt).
