NASA'S NEWLY LAUNCHED LUCY SPACECRAFT IS HAVING ISSUES WITH ONE OF ITS SOLAR PANELS

A robotic spacecraft that NASA just launched to explore clusters of asteroids around Jupiter may be in some slight trouble on its journey through space. HISTORIC DRUG BUST FOUND 450 KILOGRAMS OF HEROIN AMONG CERAMIC TILES

Authorities in Australia have seized more than 450 kilograms of heroin concealed in a sea freight shipping container sent from Malaysia, making it the country's largest-ever shipment of the illicit drug. The heroin, which was believed to be worth at least $140 million, was hidden among ceramic tiles that were being transported in an industrial shipping container addressed to a Melbourne business. The drugs were distributed among a total of 1,290 packages — weighing roughly as much as a grand piano. Vice

Here's What Uranus Scientists Think About Your Disgusting Jokes | Futurism

HERE'S WHAT URANUS SCIENTISTS THINK ABOUT YOUR DISGUSTING JOKES

Uranus is a fascinating place. Planetary scientists are captivated by the ice giant's unusual methane-rich atmosphere, sporadic weather, and magnetic field that interacts with the sun all the way from its distant orbit. And, unfortunately, it also has a name that lends itself really well to dirty jokes. It can be pronounced either "urine-us" or "your-anus," both of which open up endless possibilities for potty humor. "I think at first I found it quite frustrating," Lancaster University researcher Chris Arridge told Futurism. "There was a little bit of that 'We're doing serious stuff here,' and we're trying to push for a mission to a really scientifically interesting place. And in some sense, the butt jokes — do they devalue that in some sense?" Futurism

Fake Rhino Horns Were Supposed To Foil Poachers. What Went Wrong? | Vox

FAKE RHINO HORNS WERE SUPPOSED TO FOIL POACHERS. WHAT WENT WRONG?

Several years ago, a Seattle-based tech startup called Pembient turned heads when it announced a plan to 3D-print rhinoceros horns to help combat illegal poaching. The idea sounded simple: Hunters are killing rhinos for their valuable horns, so flooding the market with synthetic but otherwise identical horns could undermine demand for the real thing. It's a creative approach to the plight of rhinos, a problem that conservation groups have long struggled to solve. "Can we save the rhino from poachers with a 3D printer?" read one headline in 2015. So why hasn't it caught on yet? Vox
