RESEARCHERS SAY THEY'VE CREATED SUPERCONDUCTORS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE Researchers claim to have created superconducting material at room temperature and feasible levels of pressure, which could potentially revolutionize the use of superconducting magnets in MRI machines, particle accelerators, and fusion energy research, per Futurism. The material, called "nitrogen-doped lutetium hydride," was created by compressing the material at extreme levels of pressure using diamond anvil cells. However, with a price tag of $550,000, they are currently more of a plaything for the wealthy. But who knows? Maybe one us common folk will be able to fly around.
