The FDA has given the green light to Upside Foods to produce lab-grown chicken meat, the second such approval in the U.S., reports NPR. The company's chicken nuggets are made from cultured chicken cells and are expected to be available in retail stores later this year.

Microsoft AI scientists claim that OpenAI's latest language model, GPT-4, shows "sparks" of human-level intelligence, or artificial general intelligence (AGI), according to Futurism. Although several within the AI industry believe AGI is a pipe dream, GPT-4 is seen as a serious contender for AGI development. However, researchers did concede that the overall "patterns of intelligence are decidedly not human-like.” So, still a pipe dream, but with a light at the end of the pipe.

German Monks Create World's First Powdered Beer | New Atlas

Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle, a monastic brewery near Munich, claims to have created the world's first powdered beer, which can be transported at a fraction of the weight, reports New Atlas. The brewery will test the dextrin-rich, zero-alcohol beer in small quantities until mid-2023, but plans to produce alcoholic beers by compressing the process to reduce raw materials, labor, and energy.
